Taking part
What should I wear?
Please make sure you wear appropriate footwear. Comfortable and suitable clothing is recommend and we would love to see you in your SAMH Stomp t-shirt.
Where do you suggest I do my challenge?
You can now take part in SAMH Stomp virtually anywhere! Just start counting the stairs you climb: it could be any flight of stairs in your home, your flat stairwell or in your local park. You can also take on your Virtual Stomp challenge over a few days or in one big session.
You could contact your workplace or local football or rugby club and ask if you could access their stairwell or stadium to complete your challenge – this is especially helpful if you wish to do this as a team.
Please remember to follow Government guidelines at all times.
How long will it take to complete?
This depends on your fitness level and which challenge you have decided to take part in. It can take between 20 minutes for Mini Stomp to 6 hours for Ultimate Stomp. You can take part in the challenge across the week and it does not need to be completed in one day.
Will there be a warm up?
Yes! We will be sharing a virtual warm up with you ahead of the challenge. It will also be shared on the Stompers Facebook group.
How can I track the stairs I climb?
We will send you a downloadable tracking sheet that helps you calculate how many times you need to go up and down your staircase. There will also be room to record every staircase you have completed so you don’t lose track. There are also lots of fitness apps such as Strava that will help you track your stairs.
How do I let you know I have completed my challenge?
Record your progress on your Just Giving Page so we know when you have completed your Stomp.
What happens once I complete my challenge?
In the following weeks you will receive an official certificate and medal in the post.
I still have a question, can you help?
Yes! Email us at stomp@samh.org.uk and we will do our best to help.
